During this period 300,411 beneficial members have been ad-
mitted to membership. 219,880 were suspended, 116,580 of
whom reinstated, leaving a lapsation of 103,300. During this
same period 20,205 beneficial members have died, and deducting
the lapses and deaths, the Society made a net gain of 177,801,
or an average gain of | 7,780 beneficial members for each year.
