WINTER
BIHE. fields are white with raiment fine,
Gold tinted in the sun’s new shine,
' The azure air is still; |
As crystal bright, a silver light
Gleams over yonder hill.
The sunbeams on the ice divide,
With white and rosy glimmer, wide
In ever-changing hue.

There thorn-twigs bare and few. Z,
Jeweled with hoar-frost are
the trees;
But stirs one branch _ be-
neath the breeze,
Where sleeps the small
white grain,
Then sudden all those
jewels fall
As summer blossoms
rain. |
